A prominent Delta-based political pressure group, in existence for over two decades, has extended a vote of confidence to the leadership of Governor of delta state Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen Ahmed Bola Tinubu, commending their exemplary work in the state and the federation.
The national chairman of the pressure group Hon chief Isaac Ozoemezie Anwuzia PhD JP appreciated members of the group and he highlighted the mode of operandi of the group. He called on the ward and LGA coordinators to deliver 5/5 and 6/6 in their various units and wards. Starting from the president, Governor, senate, Reps and the House of Assembly.
He charged them to work with the party guild line which is the mode of operation for the pressure group. We will work with our party leaders to ensure all the candidates of APC won their respective seats at the general election including me too.
Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, emphasized the significance of such gatherings, urging for increased youth inclusivity at the grassroots level. He highlighted the current administration’s initiatives, including student funds, allocation of funds to local governments, and ongoing federal road projects across the state.
Supporting his views, Rt Hon Funkekeme the state Coordinator of Renewal Hope For More Agenda and some leaders noted that under the present administration, governors are paying salaries, states are not burdened with loans, and local governments have funds to implement projects and pay salaries, attributing this to the President’s allocation policies.
The leaders appealed for patience, citing gradual economic improvement and the administration’s efforts to tackle security issues. They also spoke about the student loan scheme benefiting numerous students and encouraged Nigerians to leverage this initiative. Discussions on electricity reforms revealed that states like Abia and Imo have begun generating their own power, with Delta State poised to follow suit. By the ending of December delta will join other state to have stable electricity because with stable electricity investors will move in to invest in the state.
Following deliberations, Hon Chief Isaac Ozoemezie Anwuzia proposed a motion of confidence in the Governor and President, which was seconded by a member of the house after the former speaker of delta state house of assembly moves a motion.
The meeting drew attendance from top government officials, APC state chairman Hon chief Solomon Areyenka, business leaders, political advisors, Delta mandates coordinators from wards and LGA across 25 local government and members of the press.
