Tragedy was averted at the Benin Airport on Thursday after an Enugu Air aircraft skidded off the runway, causing panic among passengers and airport officials.
It was learnt that the incident, which occurred upon landing, did not record any casualty as all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.
A staff member of one of the airlines operating in the Airport who confirmed the incident said the incident happened a few minutes after 4pm.
The source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the airline was airborne from Lagos to Benin.
He said the tyres of the airline pulled off from the plane while landing at the runway.
He, however, denied the wide spread allegation that the aircraft crash landed
