The industrialist is also substantially scaling up wheat milling capacity to deepen market presence and compete directly with major industry players. He is finalizing the company’s edible oils infrastructure and reinforcing integrated manufacturing operations across the country.

Speaking to shareholders at the company’s Annual General Meeting in Abuja, Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu emphasized that the initiative is driven by the strategic value of operational scale.
”By next year, when our current projects are completed, BUA will become the largest player in our sector in Nigeria,” stated Rabiu. “We are not pursuing growth simply for the sake of becoming bigger. We are pursuing growth because scale matters in an industry like ours.”

Beyond corporate growth, BUA Foods has aligned this expansion with national economic priorities. By increasing the domestic production of staple foods, the company aims to strengthen local supply chains, reduce import dependence, and foster price stability for Nigerian consumers through increased market competition.

This historical expansion is self-funded following BUA Foods’ strongest financial year on record: Revenue: Reached ₦1.77 trillion ($1.27 billion), a 16% year-over-year increase.

Profit After Tax (PAT): Surged 95% to ₦518.4 billion ($373 million).
Total Assets: Expanded by 27% to reach ₦1.39 trillion. Reflecting this robust growth, shareholders approved a record final dividend of ₦28 per share (totaling ₦504 billion/$363 million), representing a 115% increase over the previous year’s payout.

With all manufacturing projects scheduled to come on stream next year, BUA Foods remains committed to operational efficiency, transparency, and disciplined management as it executes its vision to lead Africa’s consumer goods sector.
