The rulings against Multichoice Nigeria Limited and Peace Mass Transit highlight the growing power of the FCCPA in ensuring fair consumer treatment across Nigeria.

Mr. Tunji Bello, the FCCPC’s Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commended the judiciary for its decisive action, which he says upholds justice and boosts consumer confidence.

“These rulings affirm the power of the FCCPA in protecting consumers and holding service providers accountable for breaches of lawful service standards,” Bello stated. He emphasized that the judgments confirm the courts’ readiness to enforce consumer rights and ensure that service providers adhere to fair delivery standards.

Bello also praised the consumers who pursued justice through legal channels, noting that the Commission itself facilitated recoveries exceeding ₦10 billion for consumers across 30 sectors between March and August 2025. This, he noted, is a testament to the increasing efficiency of Nigeria’s consumer protection system.

“Consistent judicial enforcement enforcement reinforces the Commission’s regulatory efforts and sends a clear message that violations of consumer rights attract serious consequences,” Bello added, encouraging Nigerians to continue reporting unfair trade practices to the FCCPC.
