The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has officially issued a public advisory detailing accessible reporting channels for citizens to flag suspected fake, substandard, and unregistered medical products, as well as adverse drug reactions (ADRs).

As part of its ongoing commitment to public health and consumer safety, NAFDAC is urging members of the public, health professionals, and commercial stakeholders to actively utilize its digital platforms, dedicated hotlines, and web portals to report safety concerns and verify product authenticity.
Consumers and healthcare providers who experience or observe unexpected or adverse reactions to medicines, vaccines, or medical devices are advised to submit reports through the MedSafety App, available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, by emailing pharmacovigilance@nafdac.gov.ng, or via the e-reporting platform on the official website at nafdac.gov.ng.
To report falsified, counterfeit, or unapproved medical products, members of the public can use the NAFDAC Greenbook App (available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store), access the web portal at greenbook.nafdac.gov.ng, send an email to sf.alerts@nafdac.gov.ng, or call the toll-free hotline at 0800-162-3322.
To ensure product authenticity and public safety, consumers are strongly advised to verify whether a medical product is legitimately registered with NAFDAC prior to purchase or consumption by searching its registration number on the NAFDAC Automated Product Administration and Monitoring System (NAPAMS) portal at registration.nafdac.gov.ng.
Meanwhile, regulated industry stakeholders and distributors seeking to initiate a product recall must strictly adhere to mandatory protocols by submitting formal notifications addressed to the Director-General through the Director of Post-Marketing Surveillance. These recall reports must specify the product name, registration number, manufacturer or marketing authorization holder details, batch number, expiry date, distribution records, precise reason for recall, and a proposed corrective action plan, transmitted either electronically via designated post-marketing surveillance channels or as hard copies delivered to the nearest NAFDAC operational office.
For general regulatory enquiries, administrative clarifications, or customer support, members of the public can contact NAFDAC directly by calling 0700-162-3322, emailing nafdac@nafdac.gov.ng, or visiting the official website at nafdac.gov.ng. Emphasizing that public vigilance is vital to identifying hazardous items and eliminating unverified pharmaceuticals from circulation, the Agency urges citizens to provide detailed information and supporting evidence when making submissions, noting that active reporting directly empowers NAFDAC to investigate safety concerns, resolve violations, and enhance public health protection under its campaign mandate to stay informed and stay safe.
As the federal agency operating under the Federal Ministry of Health, NAFDAC remains dedicated to regulating and controlling the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale, and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, chemicals, and packaged water across Nigeria. Stakeholders, media organizations, and the general public seeking additional assistance or official engagements can reach the Agency at NAFDAC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, or connect via its primary phone line (0700-162-3322), official email (nafdac@nafdac.gov.ng), and web portal (nafdac.gov.ng).
