EAN Aviation Limited, a leading provider of business aviation and Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services in West Africa, in partnership with Aerro Path and I Fix Network, successfully hosted its Aviation Discovery Day, an initiative designed to bridge Nigeria’s aviation talent gap, make aviation careers more accessible, and expose aspiring professionals to the diverse opportunities available across aircraft engineering, maintenance, flight operations, and commercial aviation management.
The event, held on August 4, 2026, at EAN Aviation’s executive facility in Lagos, brought together students, young professionals, and industry stakeholders for an immersive experience into Nigeria’s business aviation ecosystem.
The initiative was delivered with the support of EAN Aviation’s Managing Director, Segun Demuren, whose commitment to talent development and industry growth reflects the company’s broader investment in strengthening Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem and inspiring the next generation of industry professionals.
Welcoming participants to the facility, Josephine Kolawole, Head of Marketing at EAN Aviation, emphasized the company’s dedication to human capital development alongside infrastructure growth.
“At EAN Aviation, we believe that the future of our industry depends not only on world-class infrastructure and technology but, more importantly, on investing in people,” stated Kolawole.
“Aviation is far more than aircraft taking off and landing; it is an ecosystem of highly skilled professionals working together across engineering, maintenance, flight operations, safety, and commercial management. Every role plays a vital part in keeping the industry safe and efficient,” she added.
The programme commenced with a comprehensive safety briefing conducted by Mercy Asein of EAN Aviation’s Quality and Safety Department, reinforcing the company’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence and safety.
Delivering the opening address, Jifack Laure Colotte, Founding Partner at Aerro Path, highlighted the need to make aviation education more accessible and broaden young people’s understanding of the career opportunities available beyond traditional roles such as pilots and cabin crew.
“Building a career in aviation isn’t always cheap, and when costs feel too high, many talented individuals quietly walk away,” Colotte noted. “That is precisely why Aerro Path exists. We believe the only thing that should determine whether you enter aviation is your talent and drive, not your financial background. Today is about helping young talent see the full 360-degree picture of what aviation can offer.”
During a keynote career session titled “Careers in Business Aviation,” Tomilara Adewale, HR Manager at EAN Aviation Limited, demystified the business aviation sector. She explained that business aviation caters to high-net-worth individuals, corporate entities, and chartered operations where precision, rapid turnarounds, and uncompromised safety standards are paramount.
Adewale highlighted that entering the aviation industry does not always require a traditional degree, noting that professional certifications, technical competence, continuous learning, and a proactive work attitude are often the core benchmarks employers seek. Drawing on EAN Aviation’s 15-year legacy in Nigeria, she outlined career pathways spanning aircraft maintenance engineering, flight dispatch, ground handling, marketing, information technology, and quality assurance.
Complementing the career session, Richard Sunday, Chief Operations Officer (COO) of I Fix Network, addressed the critical role of technology and internet connectivity in modern aviation. He urged participants to leverage digital tools and continuous learning to power their career aspirations, describing the internet as an indispensable enabler for modern engineers, technicians, and flight operations specialists.
The event concluded with an interactive guided tour of EAN Aviation’s operational facilities, providing participants with firsthand exposure to the company’s business aviation ecosystem. The tour was led by subject matter experts across the organisation, including Okey Umeh, Operations Support Manager, who introduced participants to the Dispatch and Flight Operations Centre; Ann Umeh, Client Relations Manager, who showcased EAN Aviation’s VIP Fixed Base Operator (FBO) Lounge and premium customer experience; Oluwatosin Taiwo, Ramp Manager, who guided participants through the hangar and ramp operations, offering practical insights into aircraft ground handling; and Engineer Omoruyi Saliu-Lawal, Head of Maintenance, who conducted a walkthrough of the maintenance workshop, addressing participants’ technical questions and providing a closer look at aircraft maintenance processes.
The programme was coordinated in collaboration with Aerro Path, under the leadership of its Co-Founder, Herve Wabo, whose team partnered with EAN Aviation to plan and deliver the initiative. Delivering the vote of thanks, Wabo encouraged participants to remain intentional in pursuing opportunities across the aviation value chain while reaffirming the importance of collaboration in developing the next generation of aviation professionals.
