X3M Ideas has donated 50 Motorola walkie-talkies to the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to strengthen the communication and operational effectiveness of its Security Marshals.
The agency’s management presented the communication equipment to the LCDA Chairman, Honourable Moyosore Adebanjo, at the council secretariat on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The donation, according to X3M Ideas, is aimed at enabling security personnel monitoring the community to communicate more efficiently, coordinate their activities and respond more quickly to security situations.
The initiative forms part of the agency’s 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and continues a 14-year tradition of giving back to communities where it operates.
Over the years, X3M Ideas has invested financial resources and expertise in community development initiatives, particularly in education and youth development across Lagos State.
As part of its interventions, the agency built and stocked a library at Ikeja Senior High School in GRA, while also constructing classroom blocks, renovating school facilities and providing computers to schools.
Through its X3M Tech Training Programme, the agency also trained pupils of Muritala Ajadi Community Grammar School in website development, product design and writing. The best-performing participants were further supported with laptops and internet access.
Speaking on the donation, Steve Babaeko, Group Chief Executive Officer of X3M Ideas, said the agency views corporate social responsibility as an obligation rather than an opportunity for publicity.
“Nobody can force a company to be responsible. You choose it,” Babaeko said.
“We are corporate citizens, and no government anywhere fixes everything by itself. So, every year we ask one question. Where can we step in and make things a little better? This year the answer was security. Give the marshals the tools to talk to one another, and you make life safer for everybody in Onigbongbo. That is worth doing.”
Babaeko said the agency’s commitment to community development dates back to its establishment, stressing that it began its giving-back initiatives even before it had made significant profits.
“We started in our very first year, before there was any real profit to speak of, because this is just who we are. Fourteen years on, that has not changed,” he said.
Receiving the equipment, Adebanjo expressed appreciation to X3M Ideas for supporting the council’s security efforts.
“These radios came at the right time, and we are grateful,” Adebanjo said.
“Our marshals are only as effective as their ability to communicate and respond, and fifty reliable handsets across our teams is exactly what they needed. When a company chooses to invest in the safety of a community it works in, everybody benefits.”
X3M Ideas said it would continue its CSR initiatives in the years ahead, with a focus on interventions capable of making a practical difference in the communities around it.
