The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has announced that the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, will serve as the Chief Host of the upcoming Advertising Industry Colloquium (AIC 4.0).
The event will be chaired by Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), who brings his extensive media experience and strategic leadership to the position.
The 4th edition of the colloquium with the theme: The Future of Advertising: Roles of Platforms, People, and Regulations is scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the D’Podium Event Centre, 13B Aromire Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
Centering on the theme “The Future of Advertising: Roles of Platforms, People, and Regulations,” AIC 4.0 serves as a vital platform for “Town and Gown” dialogue, designed to align academic research with practical industry professionalism.
The colloquium will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions exploring how technology, human talent, and regulatory frameworks shape the future of advertising and strategic communication in Nigeria.
The participation of the Minister as Chief Host underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening responsible communication, fostering the creative economy, and nurturing a supportive regulatory landscape.
Speaking on the initiative, Prof. Rotimi Olatunji, rpa, Chairman of the National Planning Committee for the AIC and Journal Committee of ARCON, emphasized that the colloquium remains an essential milestone in closing the gap between academia and industry practice to drive sustainable sector growth.
