Customers decries unhealthy treatment by airlines operators

Nigerian customers have condemned in strong terms, the way and manner airlines operators in Nigeria treat them.

A customer, Dababy daddy reached out to Consumers’ Assembly through his Twitter handle; @The_Nifeme and said; “Air Peace (@flyairpeace) canceled a 7am flight and notified a passenger @ 1am.. just 6 hrs before scheduled time. What the actual hell? I don’t want to come back to Nigeria in another lifetime.”

Another customer, @JajaPhD said; “Nigerians airlinen are fond of this. I’ve had my flight rescheduled less than 3 hours to departure time.”

Reacting to the issue, the Director General of the Federal Competition & Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Babatunde Irueka said; “this is unfair. We had a meeting with airline operators two weeks ago, and key points were delays, cancellations, refunds and other consumer rights. We are scaling up monitoring capacity & considering other regulatory tools to promote transparency.

Meanwhile, a staff of one of the airlines who pleaded for his name not be mentioned told Consumers’Assembly that, it’s basically a function of a bad weather. For safety purposes, whenever there is a bad weather, flights are rearrange.
