In a powerful testament to its six-decade legacy and commitment to societal impact, Knight Frank, a leading real estate firm in Nigeria, recently announced a significant corporate social responsibility initiative. As part of its Diamond Jubilee celebration, the company is providing internship placements and bursaries to deserving students from the University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology.
This initiative underscores Knight Frank’s dedication to fostering excellence and innovation within the real estate sector by nurturing the next generation of professionals.
The beneficiaries from the University of Lagos include Ajikanle Omolara, Fawunmi Oyindamola, and Egunjobi Olabimpe. From Yaba College of Technology, the recipients are Adeaga Ifeoluwa Elizabeth, Igwe Chinaza Gift, and Olubakinde Oluwasegun Joshua.
During the presentation ceremony in Lagos, Senior Partner/CEO, Knight Frank Nigeria, Frank Okosun, expressed his enthusiasm. “It is truly an honour to be here today as part of our Diamond Jubilee celebration,” he stated. “Knight Frank Nigeria is proud to stand before you—not just to mark our legacy of six decades in real estate consultancy, but more importantly, to invest in the future of our industry: you, the students.”
Okosun emphasized that beyond properties and transactions, Knight Frank’s core focus has always been on “people—our people, our clients, and the communities we serve.” He highlighted that the selected students were chosen for their “brilliance in the classroom” and their “promise of leadership in the profession,” calling them “shining examples of what dedication, focus, and a clear sense of purpose can achieve.”
He further added, “as part of this recognition, we are offering bursaries to support your academic journey, and internship opportunities at Knight Frank Nigeria. We hope that this experience will give you practical insight into the profession, ignite your passion even further, and perhaps open doors you never imagined.”
“To the entire student body, I want to encourage you: the future of the real estate industry in Nigeria—and indeed the country—rests on your shoulders. Stay curious, stay committed, and strive for excellence. The world needs professionals who have deep technical knowledge, value ethics, champion innovation, and committed to service excellence.” He added
Professor Modupe Omirin, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the University of Lagos, commended Knight Frank’s enduring support. She noted that since her career began in 1983, Knight Frank has consistently welcomed their students for internships, with feedback consistently praising the students’ development. She also humorously pointed out the prevalence of female leadership within the university, with all the beneficiaries being women this year.
Expressing their gratitude, beneficiaries Ajikanle Omolara from the University of Lagos and Adeaga Ifeoluwa Elizabeth from Yaba College of Technology thanked Knight Frank for the invaluable opportunity. They both pledged to make their respective institutions proud.
Architect Femi Lawal, Deputy Rector Admin. at Yaba College of Technology, also extended his appreciation to Knight Frank for selecting Yaba Tech for this significant initiative. He highlighted the institution’s commitment to “town and gown” collaborations to better prepare students for the labour market, expressing hope that Knight Frank would be involved in future programs.
