Samsung, SuperSport, Others Back 4th Cycling Lagos Holding June 28

Samsung, SuperSport, Leadway Assurance and other leading brands have confirmed their support for the upcoming 4th edition of Cycling Lagos, now scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 28th, 2025.

The 2025 edition, proudly sponsored by Samsung, also enjoys the support of Nestlé Nigeria Plc, Evans Baroque, Mountains Energy Solution the Lagos State Sports Commission, and the Lagos State Cycling Association.

Speaking in Lagos, Bamidele Adeleye, Managing Director of BrandEscort Communications and Convener of the event, promised a bigger and better Cycling Lagos, noting that this year’s edition will receive special coverage from media partner SuperSport (DStv), alongside other top national media platforms.

Adeleye explained that the shift in date was necessary to avoid a clash with the National Sports Festival, a major multi-sport event currently holding in Ogun State, starting from May 16 to May 30, 2025.

He encouraged athletes and cycling enthusiasts to take advantage of the new date and register for the race via the official event website: www.cyclinglagos.com.

Speaking on the event’s theme, “Sustainable Energy,” Adeleye emphasized the relevance of the topic in Nigeria’s current energy landscape.

“For a country grappling with erratic power supply, it’s essential for individuals, businesses, state governments, and the nation as a whole to develop a sustainable energy strategy that is realistic, locally grounded, and focused on long-term resilience,” he said. “If I may ask—what is your Sustainable Energy Strategy?”

Adeleye noted that the 2025 edition is opened to five categories of participants, including professionals, celebrities, children, corporate and amateurs.

Cycling Lagos is an annual event aimed at promoting healthy living by encouraging Nigerians to embrace cycling in their communities, thereby fostering a strong cycling culture across the country.
