New Era for BJAN: Daniel Obi assumes leadership role

Daniel Obi has been elected as the new Chairman of the BrandJournalists’ Association of Nigeria (BJAN), and he has pledged to strengthen the association and uphold the highest ideals of brand journalism.

In his acceptance speech, after the election, Obi expressed his gratitude to the members of BJAN for trusting him with the leadership role.

He emphasized the importance of collective action and strong, visionary leadership in achieving the association’s goals.

Obi acknowledged the remarkable work done by brand journalists in Nigeria, risking everything to bring stories to life, hold brands accountable, and amplify voices that would otherwise go unheard.

He promised to work hand-in-hand with the members of BJAN to build a vibrant and resilient association.

The new chairman also outlined his vision for BJAN, which includes championing ethical journalism, investing in training and collaboration, and upholding public trust in the association.

He encouraged the members to work together to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing media landscape.

Obi thanked his predecessors and the members of their executive committees for laying a strong foundation for the association.

He also appreciated the support of brands and operators in the marketing communication ecosystem and encouraged them to continue partnering with BJAN.

In conclusion, Obi expressed his commitment to serving the members of BJAN, working with them, and standing by them in the days ahead.

Other elected executive members are, Lukman Ishau, Vice Chairman; Adedayo Odulaja, General Secretary; Amechi Obiakpu, Assistant General Secretary; 3. Olufemi Adeyemi, Financial Secretary; Melvin Udosen, Treasurer; Adekanmi Fadare, Auditor; Stanley Ihedigbo, Chief Information Officer and Rhoda Ogunseye, Welfare Officer.
