There is nothing like 8 billion dollars clause in electricity contractual agreement with FG – Adeola

Barrister Samuel Adeola, a lawyer, human rights Activist and National President of the association of electricity consumers of Nigeria has said that, the whole truth about electricity sector must be told, and there is nothing like 8 billion dollars contractual agreement between the federal government and the owners of electricity brands in Nigeria.

Adeola who disclosed this consumers’ Assembly yesterday in Lagos said; “yesterday when the issue came out about some nasty imaginative lies not only imported by directly from China with coronavirus that if discos were to be taken over by government, there’s this 8bn dollars clause which handicapped the government because it was to be paid to discos. I did not onky laugh but put up here a caveat to debunk the lies and to say emphatically that nothing of such was inserted as a clause, precondition nor post condition.”

A man bold enough on Nurudeen Toba Tiamiyu wall where he copied my post to say one cause 7.10.3 of performance agreement says so. I quickly went into my archive and double check to see whether when last I read I ommmitted it or that I didn’t used my glasses. Lo and behold, I copied verbatim every piece on the clause and posted it on the discuss timeline. All of a sudden the guy developed cold feet to come with his own version that contained the 8bn dollar payback and till now I’m sure he is still licking his wound of challenging me.

I don’t want to talk about that nitwit Ettu Mohammed who said it’s obvious I don’t know anything about electricity sector after he read same article of me debunking the spurious gimmick until someone helped remind him that to be solar installer and transformer contractor 1to discos doenst Mena he know next to nothing on elcteircity sector. Needless to say I told him, how he used his arrogance to eventually makes their alawada party become defunct.

I go through this route just to let you know that even though I don’t know who told this wicked lies just to show the government maybe handicap to do the needful again this time about this bedeviled sector that’s not only ruined our economy but milked daily the little purchasing power of masses thru dubious means and practice of the sector especially the distribution aspect.

To begin with, let me reiterates the statement of senate president at the Airforce event center Abuja where stakeholders roundtable discussion was organized by the NASS power committee that the privatization was a complete fraud, but he only short of saying he was part of the fraud in that since he has been in NASS till now that he became the senate president, he did nothing to reverse the fraud neither has he been able to helped gbajabiamila to realised his dream of criminalizing estimated billing which was and still is one of the fraud of the sector used by the discos to ruin business and small scale enterprise.

The sector journey to this ignominy started with Electric power sector reform act 2005 when it was designed to ease the sector way to privatization and unbuddling of same with intention to attracts good investors and enjoy relatively same privilege as witnessed in the communication sector but such dream and realization became a mirage in November 3rd, 2013 when they eventually dashed it out to their cronies with most riddiculous clause I have ever seen in private partnership or commercialisation contracts.

It’s not surprising that there was so much hooplas during the journey to privatization with different conflicting signals that this was designed to fail abnitio even though the then BPE Director General Mrs onagoruwa set out four cardinal principles for any would be investors to be qualified to bid not to talk of being awarded but the “power that be” and interest above national interest overshadowed that and what happened and those eventually subdued her good intention will be contained in the part two of this. But before I go, let me clear the mind that believe Prof. Berth Nanji left because his good view was not respected that’s why he resigned. Far from it, he was asked to resign because he as the then minister of power was of interest too not only to bid for one distribution slot but his own company submitted interest to be part which was against the law of BPE then that anybody that was anything in the sector can’t bid not to talk of minister who was the supervisor of the sector.

And in other to achieved that dream of being one of the investors , he resigned so that his company can bid but alas, his slot was given to Atiku Abubakar crony, Emeka Offor. Surprise? I’m coming, I will be back by His grace tommorow for part 2. Let me say this again, it’s time for Nigerians to know the truth about this contraption called privatization, the only anger I have against buhari was that he got not the ball to have scrap that nonsense all this while, hence your threat to my life won’t and cant stop me. Inugo!?
